Capture of the Week – Somewhere in Sydney

50mm, 1/125sec,  f/3.2, 1600 ISO

This is Katie and Daniel, and this photo was not exactly taken in a ‘picturesque’ environment.  But, we love it.  It suits the couple.  It’s cool.  It’s clean.

Often couples may suggest places to photograph that are really pretty to look at, but not necessarily great to photograph.  I found this spot on one of my city scouts, and there’s a few shots to be taken here for the fun of it. It’s not a ‘location’ as such, that a couple would suggest we go to, the way that you’d suggest going to Centennial Park, or the Botanical Gardens. It’s a place (like plenty others) that I keep up my sleeve, in case we are in the area and have a few minutes to spare on a location shoot.

I love grabbing images like this, in lesser known places, to add to the variety of a wedding collection. You never know what cool places are just around the corner.

Love, love, love this one! Perfect example of a non-traditional location that completely works!
